Khade’s research interests include rehabilitation and reentry, desistance from crime, and the cross-cultural application of criminal justice theory. Prior to joining the CJP Lab, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cincinnati’s Correction Institute. In that role, she worked on various evaluation studies, including a randomized controlled trial on the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral program for successful reentry and a quasi-experimental study to evaluate the effect of community-based correctional facilities on reducing recidivism. Additionally, she trained and provided technical assistance to agencies on the use of evidence-based practices in corrections.
Khade has also worked as a case manager for children in the juvenile justice system in Mumbai, India, and has conducted research in Cartagena, Colombia, to understand violence in schools. She has a Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Arizona State University. Her research has been featured in various publications, including the Journal of Developmental and Life-Course Criminology and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence.
