Leah Luben

Leah is a Program Manager at the Crime and Justice Policy Lab, tasked with working closely with the Office of Public Safety to help understand the city’s management structures and support the office’s leadership in developing better management and strategy.

Leah previously worked at the University of Chicago Crime Lab and Education Lab. She has experience in mixed methods research on community violence reduction programs, police training, and substance use disorder treatments. Leah has collaborated with organizations and governments in several countries, including Innovations for Poverty Action Kenya for more than two years, where she spent time studying the long-term effects of education and health interventions. She completed BA degrees in math and economics at Arizona State University and is completing her MA in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
