Steven Curfman is an undergraduate at Penn in the College of Arts & Sciences intending to double-major in Criminology and Economics and complete a Spanish minor. Steven has always been passionate about topics related to criminal and social justice, and prior to working with the CJP, devoted himself to various projects intended to educate and aid others. Notably, he worked with Drexel’s Department of Criminology and Justice Studies on a research project studying the conditions of incarcerated individuals at SCI Chester, and he participated in the Benjamin Lay Fellowship in which he compiled research and wrote papers concerning U.S. gun violence and disparate racial and ethnic treatment in the criminal justice system.
Steven is passionate about contributing to criminal justice projects that aim to benefit the broader Philadelphia community. Before graduating in the Spring of 2026, Steven hopes to broaden his impact and leave a lasting mark on marginalized communities.
